Kelly Kicking Cancer ended a successful 2018 by donating $25,000 to the Kenneth R. Peak Brain and Pituitary Tumor Treatment Center in Houston, Texas. The Peak Center is part of the Houston Methodist medical system and is one of the foremost brain cancer research centers in the world. This brings the total brain cancer research donations we made in 2018 to $50,000. This money goes directly to research projects such as the mitochondrial "smart bomb" and nano-syringes, new treatments which hold the promise of curing glioblastomas... the deadliest of brain cancers.
In the three and a half years of existence, Kelly Kicking Cancer has donated a total of $157,000 directly to brain cancer research. This is due to the selfless efforts of our all-volunteer organization. No one receives any remuneration for their work at Kelly Kicking Cancer. Their satisfaction is from knowing they have made a significant contribution to defeating a monstrous disease. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers, attendees, donors and supporters. We cannot accomplish our mission of eradicating brain cancer and honoring the memory of Kelly O’Mahoney without your help.
